Perttu Haapanen is a freelance composer with a fascination for voice, language, and their interplay with music. He draws inspiration for example from the quiet charm of abandoned office spaces and the surreal doll universes of artists like Annette Messager and Hans Bellmer.

His work has been featured at festivals and venues such as the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, ISCM, MaerzMusik, Musica Nova Helsinki, Nordic Music Days, Time of Music, Ultraschall, Warsaw Autumn, 
Wien Modern, and Wigmore Hall.
